Information about COVID-19

We want to continue to provide you with the latest information about the coronavirus. Our school leadership team is working to both monitor this situation on a daily basis and manage our response to this outbreak. As a reference we have provided our responses to the developing crisis. We are also continuing to work with our local and state health agency partners. The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services (DHSS) has developed this helpful fact sheet and has a website dedicated to information about this new illness. SCHOOL UPDATE:  March 23, 2020

On Saturday, March 21, 2020, Mayor Lyda Krewson and County Executive Sam Page, announced mandatory 30 day “Stay at Home” orders aimed at preventing the further spread of the COVID-19 virus. In light of these new restrictions, La Salle Middle School along with all schools in St. Louis City and County have decided to extend our school closures through April 22nd. This decision will be continually
re-evaluated in coordination with our local government officials and Health Departments.

SCHOOL UPDATE:  March 15 2019

Dear Parents, Guardians and Staff:
Out of an abundance of caution, and in consultation with St. Louis city health officials and in coordination with St. Louis city and county government officials, city and county school districts and the Archdiocese of St. Louis, La Salle Middle School will close on March 18th in order to curb the potential transmission of the coronavirus (COVID-19).

School will be in session on Monday, March 16th and Tuesday, March 17th and will be closed from Wednesday, March 18th to at least Friday, April 3rd. All school activities, including tutoring, athletic practices, enrichment classes and clubs, will be canceled during the time school is closed.

We know that in addition to education, our school provides vital support to our children and families. We are working on contingency plans for at-home learning, which will begin Wednesday, March 18th. Students will be sent home at the end of the school day Tuesday, March 17th, with academic packets to support learning while school is out. We are also developing plans to support students in providing breakfast and lunch for those who wish to access these meals. We will share more information with you on alternative learning and meal plans as soon as possible.
